The paper contains a list of algae taxa collected in 3 water resevoirs in the
Botanical Garden in Łódź in the years 1996-1997. 128 taxa of algae from periphyton and
benthos has been identified: 96 of Chrysophyla, (among them 93 Dacillariophyceae), 21
Chlorophyla, 8 Cyanophyta, 2 Euglenophyta, 1 Pyrrophyta. Diatoma: Achnanthes lanceolata,
Achnanthes minutissima, Cocconeis placeniula, Eunotia hinularis, Gomphonema parvulum, Navicula
capitata var. capitata, Navicula cryptocephala, Navicula cuspidata, Nitzschia palea were found
in all the samples in 1997 year.

This study contains results of the taxonomic analysis of green algae from
the ponds of the Załęczański Landscape Park. Application of the Thumarek’s eutrophy
coefficient enabled to mark off oligotrophical and eutrophical ponds on the researched area.

The phytoplankton in the Sulejów Reservoir in 1996-1997 was dominant
in spring and autumn by diatoms. The cyanobacteria were high only in several months in
summer and early autumn. Biomass values was of 0.3 to 63.4 mg dm^˗3. The most abundant
were Stephanodiscus hantzschii (Grun.), Aulacoseira granulatu (Ehr.) Simonsen, Asterionella
formosa (Hass.), Cyclotella comta (Ehr.) Kutz of diatoms, Trachelomonas volvocina Ehr of
euglenids, Pediastrum boryanum (Turp.) Meenegh., Scenedesmus quadricauda (Turp.) Breb.
Staurastrum sp. of green algae and M¡crocLstis aeruginosa Kutz and Aphanisozomenon flos-aquae
(L.) Ralfs. of cyanobacteria. Corelations between the biomass of phytoplankton and temperature,
pH, concentration of nitrate nitrogen and phosphorus in water were determined.
