Reducing the labor supply, while it’s aging has significant effects on every area of social and economic life. One of the factors that could mitigate the negative effects of this process is to stop the labor market of people who are on the pre-retirement. Extending the activity will not only reduce the burden of the working population work, but also allows the use of work experience of older people. The aim of this paper is to show the attitudes of employers towards people over 50 years of age and selected good practices aimed at improving the situation of the elderly in the labor market. The basis for the realization of this objective as the results of some studies carried out in the past decade. Moreover, in this text are cited the results of selected programs funded by the European Social Fund, the implementation of directly or indirectly, to contribute to improving the situation of the elderly in the labor market. For several years in Poland, as in other EU countries, are implemented in the framework of such projects Human Capital programs. As a result, organized training courses and programs to help older people gain new skills, as well as faith in yourself and your abilities.
