This article is the result of the researches done with the first year students during their first field exercises. Their task was ‚inter alia’ – writing a field journal, which has become the record of the experience of young anthropologists. In this paper our aim is to analyze and interpret the entries created by students, looking at them from the teaching and anthropological perspective.
