In this article the author presents preliminary results of a grater project concerning the making of specialized neologisms in the remit of the Byzantine music and hymnography, with special emphasis on the work, epistemic processes and epistemic acts of a translator, who undertakes to do their job. How does a translator work? What sources of knowledge do they recall in order to create a neologism? The author seeks to answerthese questions by way of putting into effect the foundations of epistemic semantics. The endeavor to represent epistemic acts of a translator comes at the center of the attention of the author. To this end, the author runs a series of interviews with the translator.
