Abstract
Social inequalities and their inheritance as a structural and political
problem. The aim of this paper is to explore the topic of intergenerational inheritance
of inequalities and its presence in political debate. The first section examines
the transmission of inequality as a structural feature of contemporary societies, summarizing
briefly the sociological research in the field. Next, it is discussed how this
issue is approached by political ideologies. In the last part of the paper, the author
presents the main conclusions drawn from his own research on the Polish political
discourse concerning social inequality and its reproduction.
