Wielokulturowość wsi w wymiarze lokalnym na przykładzie gminy Dobroń Figlus, Tomasz; Staniek, Katarzyna This paper presents the results of research on the issue of multiculturalism in the aspect of historical spatial layouts and selected objects of material heritage on the example of Dobroń community. The authors focused their attention on the genetic and settlement analysis and morphological reconstruction of selected villages, mainly related to so called „Olęder” and Frederician colonization from the 18th and 19th centuries. The article also presents the history and contemporary state of preservation of some objects associated with particular national and religious groups that left a clear traces in the cultural landscape of the examined area.; Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań dotyczących zagadnienia wielokulturowości wsi w aspekcie kształtowania historycznych układów przestrzennych oraz wybranych obiektów materialnego dziedzictwa na przykładzie gminy Dobroń. W opracowaniu skoncentrowano uwagę na dokonaniu analizy genetyczno-osadniczej i rekonstrukcji morfologicznej wybranych wsi, związanych głównie z kolonizacją olęderską i fryderycjańską w XVIII i XIX wieku. W artykule omówiono także dzieje i współczesny stan zachowania obiektów, powiązanych z konkretnymi grupami narodowymi oraz religijnymi, które pozostawiły wyraźny ślad w krajobrazie kulturowym na badanym obszarze.

The shapes of land lots within metropolitan space. The Łódź case Dzieciuchowicz, Jerzy; Dmochowska-Dudek, Karolina This study focuses on the spatial diversity of the shapes of land lots in metropolitan conditions viewed through the example of Łódź. The researchers placed particular attention on the diversity and compact of lot shapes. This issue was preceded by a brief discussion of the distribution, density and sizes of lots. The goal of the study was to assess the spatial variability of lots according to their shapes using GIS tools.; W artykule położono nacisk na zróżnicowanie przestrzenne kształtu działek gruntowych w przestrzeni metropolitalnej na przykładzie Łodzi. Szczególną uwagę autorzy zwrócili na zróżnicowanie i zwartość kształtu działek. We wstępnej części pracy poddano analizie rozmieszczenie, gęstość i wielkość działek. Głównym celem pracy jest identyfikacja zróżnicowania przestrzennego kształtu działek przy użyciu narzędzi GIS.

Participation in urban life and obstacles for mobility of the elderly in Łódź Pielesiak, Iwona The article analyzes participation of senior citizens in urban life of Łódź in the context of spending their free time. The paper is also aimed at revealing obstacles for their mobility within the city. It occurred that the elderly want to participate more in urban life, especially because of their strong desire to meet other people. However, there are still many barriers, mostly relating to public transport and road infrastructure, that make such participation difficult. Also many deficiencies may be found in seniors’ residential environment as well as in public green areas.; W artykule podjęto się zbadania uczestnictwa seniorów w życiu miejskim Łodzi w kontekście spędzania przez nich czasu wolnego. Jego celem było również ukazanie przeszkód utrudniających starszym osobom poruszanie się w obrębie miasta. Badanie potwierdziło, że seniorzy pragną głębszego uczestnictwa w życiu miejskim, szczególnie ze względu na silne pragnienie spotykania innych ludzi. Nie sprzyja temu jednak istnienie wielu barier związanych z transportem publicznym oraz infrastrukturą drogową. Szereg niedostatków zgłoszono również w odniesieniu do otoczenia miejsc zamieszkania seniorów oraz terenów zieleni publicznej.

Patterns of activities among Cracow’s young retirees in an urban environment(an example of cluster analysis) Urbaniak, Anna Population ageing has drawn increasingly more attention to the question of retirement. On the one hand, the number of retirees increases and retirement becomes a more prominent part of life. As a result, people at present have developed a distinct retirement lifestyle and retirees become more diverse. This study presents how the choices of young retirees (individuals that are retired for no longer than 10 years) in urban environment differ. The empirical material used for this study consisted of 206 interviews conducted with inhabitants of Cracow. Interviews were conducted from June to December 2014. Hierarchical cluster analysis enabled to differ two type of time usage models (traditional and open) and 3 types of young retirees (active retirees residing in districts that have a wide offer dedicated to senior citizens, passive retirees with limited funds and moderately active older young retirees).; Tekst prezentuje analizę 206 wywiadów z mieszkańcami Krakowa, którzy przebywają na emeryturze nie dłużej niż 10 lat. Dzięki zastosowaniu hierarchicznej analizy skupień, wyodrębniono dwa modele spędzania czasu przez młodych emerytów w przestrzeni wielkomiejskiej (tradycyjny i otwarty) oraz trzy typy emerytów, które zidentyfikowano w Krakowie (aktywnych młodych emerytów z dzielnic z bogatą ofertą dla osób starszych, biernych emerytów z ograniczonymi możliwościami finansowymi oraz umiarkowanie aktywnych starszych młodych emerytów).
