The aim of this article is to present the determinants of the limited presence of senior men in cultural institutions in Poland. The text characterises the context in which older men undertake institutional cultural activity and identifies the main reasons why the scale of their cultural participation is low. The fundamental factors that differentiate the nature of cultural participation are gender, the resulting behavioural patterns and individual adaptation strategies. These themes are analysed in the context of the barriers and problems experienced by male seniors, and the risks of social exclusion within this group are highlighted.; Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie uwarunkowań ograniczonej obecności mężczyzn seniorów w instytucjach kultury w Polsce. W tekście scharakteryzowane zostały kontekst podejmowania przez starszych mężczyzn instytucjonalnej aktywności kulturalnej oraz główne powody, dla których ich skala uczestnictwa w kulturze jest niska. Zasadniczymi czynnikami, które różnicują charakter partycypacji kulturalnej, jest płeć kulturowa oraz wynikające z niej wzorce zachowań i indywidualne strategie adaptacyjne. Wątki te analizowane są w kontekście barier i problemów, jakich doświadczają mężczyźni seniorzy, a także ryzyk związanych z wykluczeniem społecznym w obrębie tej grupy.

The article, based on qualitative research and attendance data, analyzes the functioning of institutions promoting contemporary art and the behavior of their recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic. The concept of Émile Durkheim’s anomy and Robert K. Merton’s deviant behavior was used to interpret the discussed phenomena.; Artykuł, bazując na badaniach jakościowych i danych dotyczących frekwencji, analizuje funkcjonowanie instytucji upowszechniających sztukę współczesną i zachowania ich odbiorców podczas pandemii COVID-19. Do interpretacji omawianych zjawisk zastosowana została koncepcja anomii Émile’a Durkheima i typów indywidualnego przystosowania Roberta K. Mertona.

The National Centre for Culture is conducting a foresight research project on the impact of emerging technologies on the arts. The article presents the first findings brought by the analysis of opportunities created by the development of virtual spaces accessible to artists and the public – which are expected to create the Metaverse and promote a new form of ownership, NFT. The text is dedicated to the potential of new tools and media – the positive side of the interface between modern technologies and art. The article offers definitions of the Metaverse, NFT and digital art. Apparently, these elements of social (and technological) reality not only overlap, but also complement each other. The text attempts to answer the question of what potential the next phase of digital transformation brings for visual artists.; Narodowe Centrum Kultury prowadzi projekt badawczy typu foresight, dotyczący wpływu wschodzących technologii na sztukę. W artykule przedstawiono pierwsze wnioski z analizy możliwości stwarzanych przez rozwój wirtualnych przestrzeni, dostępnych dla artystów i publiczności – mających prowadzić do powstania Metawersum – oraz nowej formy własności, jaką jest NFT. Tekst poświęcony został potencjałowi nowych narzędzi i mediów, a więc pozytywnym aspektom styku najnowszych technologii i sztuki. W artykule można znaleźć definicję Metawersum, NFT oraz sztuki cyfrowej. Te elementy rzeczywistości społecznej (oraz technologicznej) okazują się nie tylko zazębiać, ale i dopełniać. Tekst odpowiada na pytanie, jaki potencjał dla artystów sztuk wizualnych niesie ze sobą kolejna faza transformacji cyfrowej.
