Problemy rozwoju zasobów pracy i zatrudnienia w Wielkiej Brytanii w latach 1971-1985

Problemy rozwoju zasobów pracy i zatrudnienia w Wielkiej Brytanii w latach 1971-1985
Kaźmierczak, Zbigniew
The article deals with problems of demographic growth and employment of labour resources in the highly-developed capitalist countries. These problems are closely linked with level of unemployment, which constitutes one of the most difficult contemporary socio-economic problem of capitalism. The analysis is focussed on phenomena and processes orienting development and utilization of labour resources (population growth, changes in size and structure of population in working age, professional
activity rates, changes in labour resources, state, dynamics and structure of employment) examined here on the example of Great Britain. The analysis has been based on statistical data of the OECD Department of Economics and Statistics, the British Central Statistical Office, the Employment Gazette, and the International Labour Office. It encompasses the years 1971-1985, 1986, although in quite a few cases, especially when investigating problems of demographic development, the analysis reaches back into the sixties or into the future - 1990. The performed analysis of labour resources has revealed that their development proceeds invariably at a slew and quite stable rate, with
stabilized shares of professionally active men. There can be observed
continuation of long-term trend of growth in professional activity of women, and especially those married. The rate and structural characteristic of labour resources development in Greet Britain create favourable conditions for their utilization and do not contribute to unemployment growth in this country. The analysis of labour employment processes allows to state that
absorption of labour does not undergo any major changes from the qualitative point of view despite changing economic conditions. It is certainly too small in relation to existing labour resources. There can be observed the widening of enployment gap, i.e . separating lines of
trends in labour and employment grwoth. Structural changes in employment taking place in Great Britain (shifts of labour from industry to services and resulting changes in the structure of qualifications and occupations) correspond to general
trends in structural transformations in the highly-developed capitalist countries. They lead to growing unemployment as they activate sectors with a smaller absorptiveness of labour.

Zasoby pracy, ich kwalifikacje i wykorzystanie w gospodarce narodowej Czechosłowacji
Kovačova, Emilia
The article discusses the importance of labour resources in the socio-economic development of Czechoslovakia. The development poses increasingly bigger requirements also as regards demand for qualified cadres. It is necessary to reckon with a more pronounced impact of scientific-technical progress on employees structure of qualifications after 1990. Full mechanization and automation based on computer techniques will be of special importance here.

Pośrednictwo pracy w województwie łódzkim (lata 1981-1985)
Kukulak-Dolata, Iwona
The article deals with analysis of characteristic phenomena and development trends, which occurred in activities of employment agencies in the administrative province of Lodz between 1981 and 1985. The analysis has encompassed the nunber and structure of job-seekers, vacant jobs, and disproportions between the number of job-seekers and vacant jobs in different cross-sections. The performed analysis has been based on statistical data collected by the Provincial Department of Employment and Socio-Welfare Affairs in the Municipal Office of Lodz. It has allowed to formulate several conclusions, which concern, first of all, evaluation of effectiveness of new instruments of the employment policy introduced by the economic reform.

Zatrudnienie kobiet w gospodarce uspołecznionej województwa łódzkiego w latach 1975-1986
Florczak-Bywalec, Jadwiga
The administrative province of Lodz has always been characterized by the highest shares of women in the total work force. After changes in the country's administrative division in 1975, when this administrative province assumed its urban character, feminization of employment was even bigger.
The article begins with presentation of factors, which have exerted their influence on this feminization. The analysis proceeds next to description of women employment in the socialized sector of the province
with more attention being paid to changes in employment structure in the years 1975-1906. The employment structure has been analyzed according to sectors of the national economy and educational background. More attention has been devotee to the analysis of employment in industry, because
this sector employe the biggest share of working women in Lodz. Allowances have been made for changes In the number of women benefiting from child-care leaves.
The authoress points at the necessity of differentiating forms of employment (flexible working time, part-time jobs, outwork system) in order to make it easier for women to reconcile their professional employment with household duties. The article ends with some remarks summing up the entire performed analysis.
