<title>Frege i Łukasiewicz o wartościach logicznych</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/35936</link>
<description>Frege i Łukasiewicz o wartościach logicznych
Jastrzębski, Hubert; Chlebowski, Szymon
Our article regards the connections between the views on semantics of&#13;
Gottlob Frege and Jan Łukasiewicz. We are especially focused on the&#13;
problem of logical values and their ontological interpetation. The paper is&#13;
composed of three parts. In the first section we point out the general&#13;
tendencies in the reception of Frege’s logical theory in the Lvov-Warsaw&#13;
Philosophical School. The second section is dedicated to Frege’s semantics,&#13;
especially his analysis of sense and meaning of propositions. In the third&#13;
section we reconstruct Łukasiewicz’s propositional semantics from the&#13;
period when he was inspired by Frege’s semantics. We also critically&#13;
examine the widespread opinion, according to which the ontological&#13;
interpretation of logical values proposed by Łukasiewicz is entirely&#13;
consistent with Frege’s concept.

<title>Tetradowa teoria humoralna z perspektywy koncepcji idoli Francisa Bacona</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/35935</link>
<description>Tetradowa teoria humoralna z perspektywy koncepcji idoli Francisa Bacona
Janaszczyk, Agata
Francis Bacon’s conception of idols is a sort of a reference point for&#13;
showing the criticism of the tetrad humoral theory, which derives from&#13;
ancient times and corresponds to Pre-Socratic philosophy and Aristotle’s&#13;
philosophy. That theory was still dogmatic in 16th century medicine,&#13;
while its elements were used until the end of Enlightenment, even&#13;
though different ways of medical thinking were being formed. Bacon’s&#13;
general characteristics of basic cognitive mistakes in science can, as it&#13;
seems, be used in order to show their equivalents in the system humoral&#13;
approach. This way of approaching the problem can be placed within the&#13;
critical diagnosis of humors’ conception, and taken up — starting from&#13;
The Renaissance, by medics themselves: iatrochemists,&#13;
iatromathematicians, iatromechanics.
