Świadomość stylów uczenia się - korzyści dla nauczyciela i studenta
Piłatowska, Mariola
The purpose of a paper is to show how being aware of learning styles can benefit both teachers
and students. The results of studies (not well-known in Polish literature) investigating the
effects of cognitive learning style (with respect to the Gregore model and the Kolb model) on
academic performance in computer-based subjects (and also in mathematics-based subjects) will
be presented. Moreover the teacher’s responsibility is emphasised to discover the judicious use of
computer (or technology in general) as another tool in the arsenal of teaching that will guide students
to exploration, discovery, practice, appreciation, and wonder at the world they inherit.

Rola neuropsychologii w nowoczesnym nauczaniu

This paper deals with possibilities of application to teaching achievements in neuropsychology
which concern the asymmetry of cerebral hemispheres functioning and patterns of information
encoding (ways of learning). The asymmetry in cerebral hemispheres lunctioning may be tested by
means of modern techniques of brain imaging or by means of psychological tests. Such a test -
a dominant hemisphere test- was used for a group of almost 500 students of Faculty of Economics
and Sociology of Lodz University. The test pointed at a slight predominance of the left hemisphere,
which was expected of students of such faculty as the economical one, (sociology students
were characterized by the right hemisphere dominance).
The same group of students was subjected to a test for dominant sensory channel which
showed that the most numerous group of students are so called visualizers, then there are the kinesthetic,
and the last ones are the audiles. The test result demonstrates that the traditional lecture is
the worst didactic method because it reaches the smallest number of people.

The power of computer simulation as a problem-solving is well known. The Monte Carlo
study can be used in parameter estimation, hypothesis testing and resampling methods, such as
bootstrap and jackknife.
The educational role of computer simulation is considered in the paper. The use of Monte
Carlo study can promote a deep conceptual understanding of statistics. The programs, which can
be used for preparation the simulation projects and the examples of educational computer simulation
are described in the paper.

Platforma moodle jako element wspierania procesu nauczania przedmiotów ilościowych na studiach ekonomicznych
Bugajska-Jaszczołt, Beata; Czajkowska, Monika
This article treats about some issues concerning “Moodle platform” as a supporting element
for the teaching process of quantitative subjects on economics faculty. There are presented the
results of empirical research carried among economics students of WSEiP in Kielce which aimed
to define the usefulness of self-teaching courses on Moodle platform.
