Od jakościowych badań światów społecznych do interwencji socjologicznej Niziołek, Katarzyna W artykule, przyjmując fenomenologiczne rozumienie kategorii „świat społeczny”, poszukuję nowych możliwości badania światów społecznych poprzez wykorzystanie fotografii uczestniczącej (participatory photography) oraz integracji praktyki badawczej z praktyką społeczno-obywatelską. O fotografii uczestniczącej możemy mówić wtedy, gdy jednostki lub grupy, które tradycyjnie byłyby przedmiotem oglądu i poznania, same wykonują i interpretują fotografie ukazujące ważne elementy ich życia i doświadczenia. Jako technika badawcza fotografia uczestnicząca zmienia więc perspektywę poznania z pozycji outsidera na insidera. W ten sposób pozwala nam dotrzeć, zgodnie z dyrektywami socjologii rozumiejącej, do subiektywnych definicji obserwowanych sytuacji konstruowanych przez ich uczestników. Autorom fotografii daje zaś możliwość w pełni podmiotowej wypowiedzi na temat ich własnych doświadczeń, potrzeb czy dążeń, co ma szczególne znaczenie w przypadku grup mniejszościowych, marginalizowanych lub wykluczonych. W ten sposób fotografia uczestnicząca przekracza jednak granicę dzielącą poznanie naukowe od zmiany społecznej, stając się środkiem socjologicznej interwencji.; In the article, resorting to the phenomenological understanding of the "social world", the authoress looks for the new possibilities of researching social worlds with the use of participatory photography, and by integrating research and citizen practice. One may speak of participatory photography when individuals or groups that would traditionally constitute the objects of observation take and interpret photographs representing significant parts of their lives and experiences themselves. Hence, as a research technique, participatory photography changes the perspective of cognition from the position of an outsider to the one of an insider. In this way, it allows insight, in accordance with the directives of interpretative sociology, into the subjective definitions of the observed situations, as constructed by the participants. Then, it provides the picture takers with the possibility of fully subjective expression concerning their own experiences, needs or goals, which is particularly important in the case of minority, marginalized, or excluded groups. However, this is when participatory photography goes beyond the limits of scientific knowledge, and into the area of social change, becoming a means of sociological intervention. Tekst składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej autorzy przedstawiają podstawowe założenia koncepcji świata społecznego w ujęciu fenomenologicznym. W drugiej części artykułu zarysowana zostaje koncepcja wizualności, a na jej podstawie autorzy prezentują wybrane konteksty rozważań nad przynależnymi wizualności potencjami budowania i uwspólniania światów społecznych. Część trzecia poświęcona jest zjawisku odwrotnemu – omawia przykłady procesów, w ramach których wizualność staje się pretekstem kwestionowania intersubiektywności światów społecznych. Podejmowane w artykule próby teoretyczno-egzemplifikacyjne mogą stanowić wstęp do dalszych, bardziej całościowych analiz.; The aim of this article is to incorporate visuality into the theory of the social world as it was proposed in the interpretative sociology. The text consists of three parts. In the first, the authors present basic assumptions of the social world phenomenological theory. The second, elucidates the concept of visuality – the underpinnings of the chosen contexts of building and unifying the social worlds’ visual aspects that are presented in the foregoing article. The last, opens to scrutiny the examples of processes in which the visuality becomes a pretext for gainsaying the intersubjectivity of social worlds and therefore, relates to the opposite phenomenon. The theoretical and exemplifying endeavors undertaken in the article may constitute an introduction to further, more complex analyses.
