Abstract

New quality of scientific communication processes is based on the development of e-resources. Libraries need to evolve and prepare to be creative, as ways of access and use of information are changing and will continue to change. Academic libraries are a very important component of the research process in their institutions and beyond. They play key roles in terms of information access. These roles include collection development, managing subscription budgets, providing advice on information access, managing institutional collections, and reporting on usage of resources and services. This case study shows that libraries can play an essential role in explaining open access to researches by promoting OA self-archiving, OA journal publishing and hosting institutional repositories.
