Intermediation in domestic value added trade within the China-centred and United States-centred subnetworks, 2017–2023

Abstract

This repository contains replication materials for the article “Intermediation in domestic value added trade within the China-centred and United States-centred subnetworks, 2017–2023”.

The repository provides the original ADB MRIO source files used in the study, author-prepared input files for Stata, Stata scripts used to process domestic value added (DVA) trade flows, intermediate and merged Stata outputs, UCINET input files and network files, and supplementary result files used for rank-stability and intermediation-concentration analysis.

The empirical workflow covers: 1. preparation of ADB MRIO data for Stata, 2. generation of DVA flow outputs in Stata, 3. preparation of UCINET edge-list files, 4. construction of weighted directed DVA networks in UCINET, 5. calculation of selected network measures, including flow betweenness, continuous core–periphery scores, and Bonacich beta centrality, 6. supplementary article-level calculations for rank stability and intermediation concentration.

The source data were obtained from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Key Indicators Database / globalization portal. The ADB source materials remain subject to the terms and attribution requirements of the original data provider. Author-generated files include prepared input files, code, intermediate outputs, UCINET network files, supplementary result files, and documentation.

The repository is intended to support transparency and reproducibility of the empirical analysis reported in the associated article.
