<title>Ziemiańskie winnice Podola</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/12178</link>
<description>Ziemiańskie winnice Podola
Włodarczyk, Wojciech
Author describe unexpected evolution of Polish vineyards at South-East region of Poland – &#13;
 Podole – during the 1930–1940. Due to the close neighbourhood of the Black Sea, soft climate and &#13;
 fecund soil, Podole was always a wine region, but a more intensive rise of the wine production &#13;
 began after the crisis of 1929. The important role of rebuilding the vineyards played for example &#13;
 a young landlord Gustaw Głażewski who had learned the enology in France or countess Zofia Łoś. &#13;
 Winemakers were grouped in The Association of Orchards Owners in Zaleszczyki, which was the &#13;
 biggest orchards association in Poland before 1939. The chairman was Cyryl Czarkowski-Golejewski, who owned the largest Polish vineyard Wysuczka majorat (34 ha). &#13;
 Renovation of vineyards in Podole were strictly connected with promotion of region and local &#13;
 wines. Since 1935 in Podole has been organized the wine harvests by the landlords, state and local &#13;
 authorities. Event with local wine and unique folk culture was a tourist attraction in Poland. The &#13;
 wine production by landlords changed the habits and the taste, the local cultivators abandoned &#13;
 a production of fruit wine or hybrids and they started to make a real grape wine from vitis vinifera. &#13;
 Due to efforts of Polish landlords during 1920–1939 a wine production based on the grape became &#13;
 dominate. &#13;
 In the forthies the wine producers projected to plant two thousand hectares more of wine &#13;
 seedlings in Podole. After the Soviet Army invade in the 17th of September 1939 a big part of &#13;
 winemakers and landowners has been murdered by NKWD. &#13;
 The annex includes unique document describing the vineyard of Wysuczka majorat just before World War II.

<title>Ziemianie w przemyśle drzewnym   Królestwa Polskiego (1870–1914)</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/12160</link>
<description>Ziemianie w przemyśle drzewnym   Królestwa Polskiego (1870–1914)
Ziomek, Wojciech
Participation of landowners in the wood industry od the Polish Kingdom in the years 1870–&#13;
1914  was  limited  mainly  to  the  sawmilling  industry.  Landowners’  companies  were  80%  of &#13;
establishments  and  over  60%  of  production’s  value.  The  reason  for  such  a  large  share  was &#13;
possession  by  the  landowners,  resource  base,  which  accounted  for  forests.  Another  important &#13;
reason was the spatial decentralizing of the industry. &#13;
Landowners  played a  huge  role  in  the  production  of  furniture, creating  in  1872  large  bent &#13;
furniture factory in Wojciechów, which, after 1904, employed a total of more than 1,500 people. &#13;
In other sectors of the Polish Kingdom’s timber industry, gentry did not play a greater role.

<title>Ekonomiczno-gospodarcze uwarunkowania życia ziemiaństwa polskiego pod zaborem austriackim na podstawie „Pamiętników” Anny z Działyńskich Potockiej</title>

<description>Ekonomiczno-gospodarcze uwarunkowania życia ziemiaństwa polskiego pod zaborem austriackim na podstawie „Pamiętników” Anny z Działyńskich Potockiej
Wyder, Grażyna
The situation of Polish society, divided by occupants, pushed them to take steps that demanded special skills but also sacrifice and many victims. Educated people, besides all the reasonable &#13;
worries  about  their  wealth  and  heritage,  felt  morally  obliged  to  be  responsible  for  ethical  and &#13;
material values of Polish people. &#13;
Anna  Potocka  from  Działyński family, the  successor  of  not  only the  wealth  but  also  great &#13;
patriotic  tradition  of  her  forefathers,  is  a  perfect  example  of  such  an  attitude.  Anna  and  her &#13;
husband Stanisław were truly engaged in charity and various educational ventures. Among many, &#13;
the  most  interesting  was  establishing  sculpture  school  for  boys  and  lace  school  for  girls,  both &#13;
created in Oleszyce.  &#13;
The separate passage in Anna’s life concerned acquiring of an estate in Rymanów and dis-&#13;
covering a mineral water spring there. This period was a permanent struggle against the fate of her &#13;
private and professional life. Unbroken character, stubbornness and strong belief in her enterprise &#13;
finally led her to success.  &#13;
The entire life of Anna Potocka proved that despite meeting many diversities, it was possible &#13;
to achieve success being a dignified patriot and a devoted social worker at the same time.
