<title>Certyfikat jako gwarancja jakości usług SPA</title>

<description>Certyfikat jako gwarancja jakości usług SPA

In recent years, we have observed dynamic changes in the market of auxiliary hotel services. SPA services are becoming more and more significant and they are no longer considered additional activities for guests, but rather a core element of every newly-built hotel establishment. Moreover, the already existing hotels are trying to extend their offer with SPA services.&#13;
Although it is hard to imagine a new high-class hotel without SPA services, the awareness of the branch itself and its services is still unsatisfactory among Polish people.&#13;
The telephone poll conducted in 2010 among Polish adults showed that 81% of Poland’s society has never met the term ‘SPA’.&#13;
The low awareness of SPA services, lack of legal regulations and the latest trends resulting in rapid development of the market – all this causes the term ‘SPA’ to be abused by entrepreneurs, who frequently offer a minimum range of services and use the term ‘SPA’ only for marketing purposes. Such phenomenon causes confusion and misleads the clients, thus creating a negative impression of the entire industry.&#13;
As a remedy for the aforementioned problems, a tool certifying SPA establishments has been created. It is meant to help put the market in order and support consumers’ decisions as a quality and safety guarantee of the purchased services.

<description>Hotel Qubus jako przykład nowego obiektu noclegowego w Łodzi

In recent years, several new hotels such as Ibis, Campanile, Andel’s and Qubus were opened in Łódź. The latter is one of the most interesting investments, which attracts attention through its original architecture and raises controversy over its location. The establishment belongs to Qubus hotel network, which comprised 11 hotels in 2009. Qubus Hotel Łódź is located at 7 Mickiewicza Street and has been categorized as a 3-star hotel. It is located near the major city institutions and the main street of the city – Piotrkowska Street.&#13;
The hotel opened in 2006. It has 6 floors and is set on a regular, curved plan. The building is layered with red clinker bricks, which is a reference to the architecture of industrial Łódź. Hotel staff consists of 37 people. The building itself comprises 78 well-equipped rooms with 125 beds. The hotel has a restaurant with space for 45 people and a parking lot for 40 cars. Additional services include: room service, wake-up calls, luggage storage, safety deposit box, valet parking services and event planning. The latter is the most important for the targeted market segment, as the hotel is designed mainly for businessmen. For meetings and conferencing, the establishment is equipped with a modern, air-conditioned room with space for up to 40 people.&#13;
Without a shadow of a doubt, Qubus Hotel Łódź has a good location. It is professionally managed and belongs to a buoyant network, which decided to make investments in Łódź, due to city’s recent economic development and the inflow of investors, both domestic and foreign. The hotel is well promoted and well managed. The room occupancy rate is also at a high level (48%). Qubus Hotel Łódź is one of the city’s landmarks as well as an investment raising its status. Along with other, recently built, modern hotel establishments it is a perfect choice for tourists and businessmen visiting Łódź. It is noteworthy, that despite recent economic crisis, its prospects are optimistic to say the least. It is a result of good, long-term, economic development forecast for Central-Eastern Europe, including Poland. It will be reflected in the growth of business tourism, where Qubus hotels belong.

<title>Funkcja hotelarska w kompleksie Manufaktura w Łodzi na przykładzie hotelu Andel’s</title>

The article depicts Andel’s Hotel in Łódź. It is located in Śródmieście District at 17 Ogrodowa Street. It is situated in Manufaktura – the largest commercial shopping centre in the city. The hotel is located in a revitalized building of a former spinning mill belonging to Izrael Poznański – one of the most prominent factory owners in Łódź, who built a huge industrial-residential complex in Ogrodowa Street in the 19th c. The hotel’s unique architecture, its interiors and the former fire-fighting, rooftop water reservoir adapted as a swimming pool – all this adds up to the attractiveness of the described venue.&#13;
It is a hotel with a highest category (4 stars) in Łódź. It is a typical business-class hotel designed for short-term business trips. Its location is very attractive due to easy access and proximity of many major institutions, offices and tourist attractions of the city. The disadvantages of its location include the neglected tenement buildings nearby and frequent traffic congestion in Śródmieście District.&#13;
The establishment is owned by Warimpex Finanz- und Beteilungs AG – a company operating in hospitality construction and management industry. However, the hotel function is performed as franchise by Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG, an Austrian hotel network&#13;
The hotel offers a wide variety of hotel services: from accommodation, through food &amp; beverage (restaurant, several bars) to additional services (conferencing, fitness, events planning etc.). The room occupancy rate is approximately 30%, which is a good result in Łódź. Andel’s is also quite popular among foreign tourists, who made 31% of the total number of guests from October 2009 to May 2010. The hotel questionnaire conducted in spring 2010 brought positive results. The respondents indicated positive image of the hotel as well as high quality of services provided.&#13;
Andel’s Hotel Łódź is another hotel investment, made in recent years, aiming at business tourism. It is an interesting offer, especially for people seeking non-standard, industrial interiors in hotels. At the same time, it is currently (May 2010) a hotel of the highest category in Łódź and the only 4-star hotel in the city. All the abovementioned advantages along with development of business tourism in recent years create positive prospects for the growth of Andel’s Hotel in Łódź.
