<title>Rola etosu w kształtowaniu działań społecznie odpowiedzialnych w świetle przeprowadzonych badań</title>

<description>Rola etosu w kształtowaniu działań społecznie odpowiedzialnych w świetle przeprowadzonych badań
Kapias, Michał; Polok, Grzegorz
The subject of responsibility has lately become very important in the context of&#13;
the economic crisis. In economy, it took the form of social responsibility. It concerns&#13;
activities additionally undertaken by organizations in order to establish correct&#13;
relations with their employees and society, as well as with regard to the natural&#13;
environment.&#13;
Therefore, a very important role is played by the ethos of the undertaken socially&#13;
responsible actions. To a large extent it is reflected in the ethical dimension.&#13;
Thus, in enterprises, codes of ethics have become a base of axiology in building of&#13;
the organization cultures. Unfortunately, Polish companies – as shown in the paper&#13;
– still attach a minor role to the ethical dimension of business.

<title>Aspekty etyczne systemów oceniania pracowników w instytucjach publicznych</title>

<description>Aspekty etyczne systemów oceniania pracowników w instytucjach publicznych

A performance appraisal system forms an integral part of any developed management&#13;
concept. The efficiency of such an appraisal system is fostered in institutions&#13;
which prioritise quality and continuous improvement, and where innovationfriendly&#13;
actions are joined by those that build confidence. An efficient appraisal&#13;
system is characterised as follows: it is systemic in character, regular, universal,&#13;
flexible, concrete, transparent and simple in application. When implementing&#13;
a modern appraisal system, care should be taken to adhere to ethically sound principles&#13;
such as fairness, objectivity, goodness and truthfulness.

<title>Czy Polska powinna pomóc Grecji? Relacja z debaty polityczno-ekonomicznej 2010-2012</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/11089/7355</link>
<description>Czy Polska powinna pomóc Grecji? Relacja z debaty polityczno-ekonomicznej 2010-2012
Kropiwnicki, Jerzy
This question raised emotions in Poland in 2010-2012. They began with the statement&#13;
by the Prime Minister in March 2010 that Poland was ready to participate in&#13;
a program of assistance to Greece. It evoked very strong reactions – not only in&#13;
debates in conferences halls and in professional journals, but also in the tabloids and&#13;
on TV and the radio. It was not only politicians and academic experts in economics&#13;
who took part in those debates, but also the editors of the popular newspapers.&#13;
The arguments “for” and “against” of different character were raised. Those “for”&#13;
advocated on the grounds of the principle of solidarity, but also on the grounds of&#13;
the principle of subsidiarity – arguing that the burden of the problem is beyond the&#13;
possibilities of Greece to solve herself. They also raised the necessity to defend the&#13;
endangered common good – the European Union, and argued that prudence advises&#13;
earning reciprocation in case Poland meets problems in the future. Those “against”&#13;
pointed out that it was immoral to expect that a much poorer society was expected to&#13;
assist one that was better off. Another point raised in the debate was that it was the&#13;
Greeks themselves, both the political elites and the society as such, who were guilty&#13;
of creating Greece’s problems. The main problem was the institutions of the welfare&#13;
state, developed beyond the capacities of the country. But there were also some&#13;
more shocking reasons of the Greek economic problems – and among them massive&#13;
tax-avoidance, unauthorized social benefits payments, and transfers of incomes to&#13;
foreign bank accounts. There was also the manipulation of statistical data or even&#13;
their falsification, by (or with the approval of) the government. Some participants&#13;
in the debate raised the problem Greek frauds and social dysfunctions being very&#13;
well known to the EU authorities, the partners of Greece in EMU and by the German  and French commercial banks. So – following from the above – Poland should not&#13;
participate in any programs of assistance to Greece, and the burden of the problem&#13;
should rest on those who had been responsible for it or who had tolerated its growth&#13;
because of expected profits. In other words: Greek society, its political elites and the&#13;
banks and those countries that had tolerated the developments. The debate ended in&#13;
Poland when the member-states of the EMU decided that they would take decisions&#13;
concerning Greece within their own group. And it was decided that “troika” – representatives&#13;
of the European Commission, ECB and IMF – would decide on the size&#13;
of the assistance and of the conditions. Poland, as a member of the IMF, does in fact&#13;
participate in the costs of the assistance programs, but this fact does not evoke great&#13;
emotions.

<description>Dezinformacja społeczeństwa realizowana przez media internetowe a jej społeczna akceptacja
Wala, Łukasz
Online media misinforming society and the social acceptance of this phenomenon.&#13;
This article is an attempt to research the phenomenon of institutionalized lying,&#13;
which in the author’s opinion is the practice of websites aiming to maximize the&#13;
readership of their content to the detriment of the fairness and objectivity. First, an&#13;
introduction to the basic concepts of media ethics and their source in general ethics&#13;
will be presented. Then, a description of the changes which have taken place in the&#13;
media over the past several years will be shown in order to identify potential sources&#13;
of the problem and there is a review of opinions available on the Internet.&#13;
The next step was to examine sample content published by selected websites,&#13;
along with descriptions of the techniques and methods used by publishers that may&#13;
be ethically questionable, and can be described as a lie. At the end there is an attempt&#13;
to investigate the level of knowledge about this treatment and its acceptance by the&#13;
Internet community as a process of institutionalized lying. The author also provides&#13;
some ideas how to solve this problem.
