Cmentarzysko i osada kultury łużyckiej w Leśnie, gm. Brusy

Cmentarzysko i osada kultury łużyckiej w Leśnie, gm. Brusy
Walenta, Krzysztof
In the years 1975— 1976 the Excavation Expedition of Łódź University, conducting
studies on the settlement complex from the Roman period at Leśno, performed sa lv
age studies on the Lusatian culture cemetery and settlement. There were discovered
26 cremated burials, 20 hollowis, and 11 ceramics clusters. In most cases these were hollow burials and only burial No. 18 was an urn burial. In three cases the burial hollows were covered with stone pavements.
The discovered settlement objects give rise to many interpretation problems. Only
hollow No. 1 could perform housing functions, while the remaining ones must have
been auxiliary objects.
From among mobile relics, the ceramic findings are most numerous. In their
number the richest findings include bowls, barrel-shaped vessels, and small spherical vessels with cylindric necks. The entire finding may be dated back to the end of the Bronze Age.

Późnorzymska chata ze stanowiska 2 w Tokarni, gm. Chęciny, woj. kieleckie
Lechowicz, Zbigniew
In the course of studies of a Late-Roman settlement at excavation site No. 2 at Tokarnia there was expo sed a relic of a big cottage (excavation 2, cottage No.1).
In thiis article the author performs an analysis of the cottage equipment with a special attention focussed on ceramic vessels. This allows the author to carry out a functional
division of the obtained set of ceramic vessels. Their comparison with storage dens points out that they were playing an essential role in storage of granular products including grains. The internal division of the object is attributed by the author to
specialized cloth-weaving production.
The analyzed object is dated to the first half of 5th century A.D.

Sprawozdanie z prac archeologicznych prowadzonych na cmentarzysku wczesnośredniowiecznym w Mroczkowie Ślepym, stanowisko 1, gm- Opoczno, woj. Piotrków Trybunalski
Tyszler, Lubomira
In all, ten skeleton burials were discovered in the cemetery at Mroczków Slepy.
Bodies are placed in West-East direction with deviation to South, and with heads to
West. These were two woimen graves and eight child graves in infant age I and II.
In graves 9 and 10 there appeared stone „protection" which may be attributed to
the idea the burial ritual in Mazowsze District, or more widely with the paganrhristian stone symbolism. The discovered burials form three rows along North-South line.
The burial material represents a typical early-mediaeval inventory: temple bows
of II and III types (including one Pomeranian bow), small knives, a ring. The cemetery can be dated back to the second half of 12th and early 13th centuries.
It is not a churchyard cemetery with a typically mediaeval lay-out of graves in
rows and it occupies a hill-top orea of 1,5 hectare. It is located at the border-point of Żarnów and Skrzynno castellanie s near a mediaeval Russian trade trail leading from Czersko-Grójeckie Mazowsze via Drzewica to Końskie.
The studies in the cemetery were conducted during only one season and they
were of salvage type. The'cemetery is partly destroyed.

Fragment późnośredniowiecznej akwamanili z Bobrownik, woj. włocławskie

Fragment późnośredniowiecznej akwamanili z Bobrownik, woj. włocławskie
Hoibacz, Tadeusz J.
The author presents in this article a fragment of the cla y zoomorphic aguamanilla
discovered in the ca stle at Boibrowniki (province of Włocławek) in 1978.
This relic, being stylistically connected with the third group of clay figural vessels to be found in the area of Central Europe and analyzed recently by E. Kasten,
the author dates back to mid-15th century and treats as a product from a local craftsman's shop. The aquamanilla from Bobrowniki is — in the author's opinion —
a duplication of the Late-Mediaeval clay vessels the creation of which is most probably
due to contacts with the German culture circle.
