Abstract

This paper presents chosen issues connected with linguistic researches about the etymology of some Russian slang-words. The article attempts to show the tasks of future studies. Up to this day many questionable etymologies are still unsolved. One of them is the borrowing or adoptions of Polish jargon words by Russian. Despite many researches of this phenomenon there is still plenty to explore. There are a lot of controversial elements, which provoke the linguists to engage in research in this field of science. This paper shows also the difficulties that emerge, when scientists try to solve a language puzzle.
