Abstract

Second marriage in contemporary Poland is seventh of the total of partnership. This article aims to show how their formation is shaped by the age and place of residence (region, city class). Age affected by duration of current marriage (a chance to experience divorce or widowhood) and the binding effect of similar age persons. The region and class of a residence by community customs and cultural patterns, determine tendencies to enter into second marriage as well as the number of potential candidates for their conclusion.
