Abstract

In the demography manuals one can find information on male infant surplus as constant regularity. The purpose of the article is to check if the surplus is constant and to define the most important coefficient which can affect its occurrence. The study presents the most important survey approaches of a sex ratio as well as discussions, if Poland had birth sex proportions typical for the world in the last century.
