dc.description.abstract | Zanzibar is a small archipelago located off the east coast of Tanzania. Zanzibar underwent Portuguese and Arabic control during the modern era, which lasted until 1964. Between 1890–1939 Zanzibar had witnessed a clear modernity manifestation on the cultural level. For example in 1879 the very first printing shop had been established on the Island, which helped to establish the most famous newspapers (ALFALAQ)=Daybreak newspaper as well as the advancement of schools and cultural clubs during this phase. Those developments helped in the transfer of Zanzibar to thethreshold of a new phase of its cultural history. | pl_PL |
