Ośrodki dla cudzoziemców na terytorium RP w kontekście prawnomiędzynarodowych standardów ochrony praw człowieka
Abstract
The issue of international legal standards for the protection of human rights in centers for foreigners in the territory of the Republic of Poland has not been the subject of scientific research and analysis for a long time. The so-called migration crisis that European Union member states have been struggling with since the beginning of 2015 forced the Polish authorities to verify the living standards in Polish institutions in the context of international obligations and legal solutions applied in other European countries. This initiative did not come directly from the center of power but was the result of increased interest from non-governmental organizations, activist lawyers, and EU bodies. The lack of a comprehensive analysis of the functioning of foreigner centers in the Republic of Poland prompted me to write this doctoral dissertation. It includes, among others, a description of field research conducted in Polish institutions.
