Models of management and the determinants of their functioning in rural communes (dataset)
Streszczenie
The research reflects an innovative and interdisciplinary approach to governance in rural municipalities. It has provided valuable information on governance models, understood as a set of actors and methods (procedures and tools) used at various stages of governance processes: planning, decision making and implementation, as well as the determinants that influence the choice of these models.
As part of the project, a large-scale multistage study was conducted, using methodological and data source triangulation. A multilevel objective case selection procedure (based on successive approximations) was used to identify municipalities for the study, which ultimately resulted in the selection of six rural municipalities for in-depth investigation. In each of these cases (Nieborów, Zgierz, Godzianów, Widawa, Wielgomyny, Strzelce Wielskie), the main local governance actors were identified and knowledge was collected regarding their roles, mutual relations, and the attitudes of local authorities toward sociopolitical participation of the local community.
In total, 700 structured interviews with adult residents of the selected municipalities were conducted, along with 43 semistructured, in-depth interviews with key local actors.
