Konferencyjny dress code i etykieta

Abstract

Przedmiotem badań autorka uczyniła prezentację wizualną samego prelegenta podczas konferencji oraz obowiązującą go etykietę. Analiza literatury przedmiotu wykazała, iż jest to temat nie podejmowany przez naukowców i jako taki nie pojawia się też w praktycznych poradnikach dotyczących dobrego wychowania czy ubioru. Autorka wskazała, że poza umiejętnością tworzenia poprawnych i merytorycznych prezentacji, ważne jest, by mówca wykazywał się nie tylko wiedzą, ale swoim ubiorem i zachowaniem, odzwierciedlał przyjęte wśród grona akademickiego zasady. Należy zatem pamiętać, by ubiór konferencyjny nie odbiegał zbytnio od norm, był wyrażeniem szacunku dla innych, miejsca i okazji. Dobrze dobrany strój oraz poprawne zachowanie wraz z nienagannie przygotowaną prezentacją, z pewnością przyczynią się do sukcesu w trakcie konferencji.

This chapter is devoted to visual presentation of the speaker as well as the etiquette to be followed during conferences. Research on the conference clothing and etiquette proved that this is a subject not covered by any scientific publications and, as such, is not even mentioned in general publications focusing on good manners and dress code. The author of this chapter has shown that apart from being able to create proper presentations based on knowledge and merit, it is important for the speaker to display behavioral norms accepted by the academics. For that reason, it is necessary to remember that the clothes we wear for the conference do not diverge from these accepted norms as they are a sign of our respect for others, for the venue and occasion. It is also important to stress that appropriate clothing should be accompanied by proper behavior which, together with a perfectly prepared presentation, will certainly contribute to our success during the conference.
