Pogranicze folkloru i kultury popularnej w wielkomiejskiej Łodzi. Od połowy XIX wieku do 1939 roku

Abstract

Zamieszczone w antologii publikacje na temat łódzkiego folkloru robotniczego, powieści odcinkowych i satyry z prasy codziennej i okolicznościowej dotyczą materiałów gromadzonych i interpretowanych w latach 60., 70. i 80. XX w. Oprócz zbiorów piosenek robotniczych i popularnych wśród szerszych mas społecznych, antologia zawiera także teksty satyryczne, gazetowe powieści odcinkowe i opowieści rysunkowe, oraz teksty reklam zamieszczanych w prasie. Towarzyszące tym treściom artykuły specjalistów i badaczy tworzą niezbędne poznawcze konteksty, dzięki którym niniejsza pozycja stara się zapełnić niezbyt spenetrowaną, kilkudziesięcioletnią lukę w refleksji nad tą sferą słabo przebadanej wielkomiejskiej kultury Łodzi. Jednocześnie jest to książka w pewnej mierze popularnonaukowa i nie rości pretensji do całościowych ujęć, nie stanowi także przykładu ujednoliconego teoretycznie podejścia opartego na ambicji stosowania najbardziej nowoczesnych strategii, metod i założeń interpretacyjnych. Jest raczej próbą mapowania dynamicznego i płynnego zjawiska, jakim w nowoczesnej Łodzi było pogranicze między robotniczym folklorem a kulturą popularną. Dlatego też stanowi przyczynek do dalszych badań dla różnych dziedzin humanistyki oraz materiał twórczy i edukacyjny, także rodzaj inspirującej bazy tekstów, z której mogą korzystać animatorzy kultury miejskiej. Antologia prezentuje zatem materiał służący dalszym odkrywczym interpretacjom.

The publications included in the anthology on Łódź workers' folklore, serial novels and satire from the daily and occasional press concern materials collected and interpreted in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In addition to collections of workers' songs and songs popular among the wider social masses, the anthology contains also satirical texts, newspaper serial novels and cartoon stories, as well as texts of advertisements placed in the press. The articles by specialists and researchers accompanying this content create the necessary cognitive contexts, thanks to which this book tries to fill the not very well-penetrated, several-decades-old gap in reflection on this sphere of the poorly researched metropolitan culture of Łódź. At the same time, it is a popular science book to some extent and does not claim to be comprehensive, nor is it an example of a theoretically unified approach based on the ambition to use the most modern strategies, methods and interpretative assumptions. It is rather an attempt to map the dynamic and fluid phenomenon that was the border between workers' folklore and popular culture in modern Łódź. Therefore, it is a contribution to further research in various fields of the humanities, as well as a creative and educational material, as well as a kind of inspiring text database that can be used by urban culture animators. The anthology therefore presents material for further revealing interpretations.
