Streszczenie
Before World War II Sieradz was the average county town. During German occupation
and after incorporation into Third Reich its position significantly increased. The expression
of that was creating many institutions, which separated this city from other in similar size.
Except county administration, municipal board and police in Sieradz, there were functioning
the outpost of Gestapo, the prisoner-of-war camp and the severe jail, too. Through these institutions
the German occupational policy was realized. Functioning of military hospital and
weapons test site of Wermacht proclaimed the specificity of Sieradz, too. Except that, Nazis
framed plans of city deep redevelopment and assimilation Sieradz to German cities. All of these
institutions and plans served only Third Reich interests.
