Niesamowite, Słowiańszczyzna, Zagłada: o "Pomalowanym ptaku" Jerzego Kosińskiego (architeksty i parateksty). Część pierwsza
Abstract
In this part of my text first of all I convince of the crucial role of antagonism
between rules of imaginary and pressure of history (uncrossed in the case of Holocaust's
horror) in the parabolic Kosinski's novel. I show, that Kosinski, using literary medium,
tries to carry out a risky thesis of continuity of all earlier known forms of violence and
Endlósung, but in the same time he gives a demonstration of breaking of this continuity.
In my article I pay attention to the consequences of the fact, that Kosinski built fictitious
history of The Painted Bird's main protagonist making use of two sources. On the one
hand of them consists of interweaved, in a way, conventions of fairy-tale, initiation novel,
educational novel and picaresque (precisely in its German version called Schelmenroman).
On the other hand the second inspiration for the novel's author was authentic testimonies
of Jewish survivors, those ones who managed to stay alive on "Aryan's side”. However
also in their stories forced scenario replays, the same one we can recognize in outline in
traditional literay models of plot used by Kosinski.
