Transformationen und Aktualisierungen der Identität: Zwischen Selbst und Bewegung in MARLENE STREERUWITZ’ Jessica, 30.

Abstract

Am Beispiel des Romans Jessica, 30. der österreichsichen Autorin MARLENE STREERUWITZ wird in diesem Beitrag das mehrdeutige und zugleich dynamische Frauenbild in der Gegenwartsliteratur gezeigt. Hierbei wird einerseits auf die Transformationen der Protagonistin Jessica, andererseits auf ihre Versuche unsicherer Überschreitungen und hierdurch ausgelöste Konflikte eingegangen. Außerdem hat der Beitrag das Anliegen, das Sprachdesign von STREEUWITZ unter die Lupe zu nehmen und exemplarisch als ein Diskursmittel zur Konstitution von weiblicher Geschlechtsidentität innerhalb der ambivalenten Konstellation von Ordnung bzw. Unordnung der gesellschaftlichen Machtverhältnisse und -strukturen zu analysieren.

Designed as a case study of Austrian author MARLENE STREERUWITZ’S novel Jessica, 30. this contribution deals with the ambiguous as well as dynamic image of women in contemporary German literature. The focus is two-fold, where on the one hand, Jessica’s transformation of identity is discussed, and on the other, her attempts at certain transgressions and the resultant conflicts are explored. In addition, the contribution also discusses STREERUWITZ’S use of language, especially as a discursive device for configuring the constitution of women’s identity within the ambivalent constellation of order or disorder of social power relations and structures.

Artykuł analizuje na przykładzie powieści Jessica, 30. austriackiej autorki MARLENY STREERUWITZ wieloznaczny i jednocześnie dynamicznie się zmieniający obraz kobiety w literaturze współczesnej. Ukazane są transformacje osobowości Jessiki, bohaterki powieści a także jej niepewne próby przekraczania granic i wynikające z tego konflikty. Ponadto artykuł problematyzuje język literacki STREERUWITZ i odczytuje go jako narzędzie pomocne w dyskusji na temat tożsamości kobiety, uwikłanej w skomplikowane konstelacje pomiędzy porządkiem i chaosem społecznych relacji i struktur władzy.
