Markery ryzyka przewlekłych chorób niezakaźnych (CNCDs) a proces modernizacji biomedycznej społeczeństwa – wyzwania i dylematy współczesności

Abstract

The late modernity period as a stadium of social formations’ development is an immanent feature of a so-called risk society. Unforeseeable adverse effects characteristic for this stadium are one of the most typical social life features; on the other hand, they are apparently connected with social reflexivity level. Contemporary risks comprising populations’ health are not the exception in this matter; chronic non-communicable prism, through which we tend to perceive the reality and our relations with it. Taking the increased CNCDs risk into account, as well as considering global uncertainty as a result of the late modernity period, people adapt specific procedures. Depending on the types of challenges which socially defined ‘reality’ has to face, these procedures may have either individual or collective character. The report aims therefore at systematization of social attitudes towards the risk connected with the CNCDs occurrence which basically means – its most significant risk factors.
