Korespondencja Filomatów z lat 1817–1823 jako źródło do historii związków młodzieży akademickiej

Abstract

The Philomaths Association existed in the years 1817–1824 in Vilnius. During six years the Philomaths kept in touch with one another and sent plenty of letters, which complemented the information included in the documents of the association that were stored in the Philomaths’ archive. These papers survived thanks to Philomath Onufry Pietraszkiewicz who collected them and preserved during the investigation. Later they were in his family’s keeping. The Philomaths’ correspondence is a valuable historical source because it contains data about the Philomaths Association, about subordinate clubs and other youth organizations in the Vilnius Academic District.
