The 15th volume of the publishing series “Region and Regionalism” entitled Borderlands of nations, religions, and cultures in the face of civilization changes, is also the final volume of the series, effectively concluding it. Subsequent volumes of the “Region and Regionalism” series, from 1994 onwards, largely consisted of the materials of the International “Lodz” Conferences on Political Geography, which began in 1988, during the People’s Republic of Poland, behind the Iron Curtain. The eighteenth edition of this conference took place in Święta Lipka from 14 to 16 September 2023, and the organisers have decided that it, too, will no longer continue in its previous form. The contents of the 15th volume of the “Region and Regionalism” series are partly the result of the discussions held at this conference and partly include submitted texts related to the conference’s themes. The articles collected in volume 15 of “Region and Regionalism” are the work of authors from Albania, France, Poland, and Slovenia, and they present various perspectives on the issue of minorities living in border regions. The Editors hope that the materials presented in this volume will serve as an inspiration for further studies and analyses on the role of the state in the life of societies.
