Abstract
The article concerns the oldest history of the town of Rozprza in the light of a document found in the Central Archives of Historical Records in Warsaw (AGAD) regarding the sale of the vogh’s office in 1373 to Wojciech Golonka for 40 marks. The article corrects many erroneous information about this town published to date, including the year 1372 as the date of the issuance of this document. The court powers of the vogt (Polish: wójt), his right to use two butcher’s stalls and one baker and shoemaker’s stall, as well as the conditions for performing military service on a horse worth 2 marks are presented. The names of several villages belonging to the vogt’s salary were also corrected and some topographical details in the town and its immediate vicinity were described.
