Zmiany w strukturze zatrudnienia w województwie łódzkim (lata 1990 -1992)

Abstract

The reforms of socio-political system taking place in Poland exert a strong influence on changes in the sphere of employment. This paper discusses the main problems and changes in employment in the Administrative Province of Łódź. It shows the main factors of transformations, and analyzes changes in the number and structure of employees according to sectors and branches. Against this background, there are shown characteristics of economically active persons according to forms of ownership, forms of employment, and level of education. The author points at changes of a short-term nature and emerging trends of long-term changes. Characteristic features of these changes include reduction of employment in all sectors of material production and a growing number of persons employed in services. There is also pointed out a rapid growth of employment in the private sector.
