Konkurencja jako podstawa systemu gospodarczego w doktrynie F. Hayeka

Abstract

At the foundations of F. Науеk’s’ social doctrine lies a conviction that spontaneous social processes based on freedom and competition are creative forces of civilization. Significance of competition as a supreme socio-political principle is derived by the author from the following methodological preibises: - social phenomena are phenomena with a very complex structure; - human cognitive capacities, especially in the field of social phenomena are very limited; - knowledge necessary for making economic decisions is never given to a single man in a concentrated form. The above assumptions are used by the author to prove the necessity of decentralization of economic decisions and the fact that competition being a process of disclosure and transmission of information solves the main economic problem of society. This unshakeable belief in competition leads not only to negation of the planned economy but also to criticism of contemporary social systems of capitalist countries. In the latter, the author’s apprehension is aroused by two trends, i.e. the policy of full employment and preoccupation of the public opinion with ideas of social justice.
