When talking about ancient theatre, it should be emphasized that we deal with drama and theatre of Greeks and Romans. However these both theatres have undergone various transformations which introduced changes in their nature, their essential features remain distinctive from each other. In Roman culture, the main hallmark of the theatre was its cultural foreignness, since theatre in Rome was just adapted from Greece. is “foreignness” can be considered in various aspects: religious, territorial, mental, moral, legal. Furthermore, it caused that actors of professional theatre were socially excluded and imposed with infamy
