Sprawy kobiet w dorobku piśmienniczym z lat 1926–1948 późniejszej dyrektor Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego Heleny Więckowskiej

Abstract

There are 221 printed items – dissertations, articles, reviews in the rich scientific output of prof. Helena Więckowska, from the years 1922–1983. Among them special attention should be payed to a group of works of a clearly outstanding subject, the works devoted to different aspects of women’s life. H. Wieckowska’s interests in this field were precisely connected with her activities in The Polish Association of Women with Higher Education. She became involved in the functioning of this organization already at the very beginning (1926), where she performed important functions to the dissolution of the Association in 1948. She was the member of The Main Board of Directors of The Association and The Committee of International Matters. After the Second World War, prof. H. Więckowska was the deputy chairwoman of the Association, the head of The Committee of International Matters and the editor of “The Bulletin of the Main Board of Directors of The Polish Association of Women with Higher Education”. Prof. H. Więckowska devoted a lot of time for The Association, both as the member of its authorities and the main author preparing reports and describing the activity of this organization for the press needs. She published her opinions related to the problems of this organization. The leitmotive of all the texts was the position and the role of women in science defined in different countries, especially in Poland, during centuries.
