Abstract

In 2015, the Chair of Library and Information Science at the University of Lodz celebrated its 70th anniversary. The following article as a factual and overview workdistin guishes three types of publications based on their themes: (1) reviews discussing the establishment of the facility, (2) descriptions of conducted didactic activities and (3) works related to professors leading their academic and didactic undertakings. On the basis of texts written by organisers of library and information science educational path as well as its participants, namely students and (later) teachers, the development of the Chair in the years 1945–2015 is presented, along with a description of publications devoted to Masters and Teachers. The works confirming the interpretation of their accomplishments, thus a certain continuity with the work of predecessors, are also highlighted.
