Kształcenie bibliotekarzy na Uniwersytecie w Białymstoku (1991–2015)

Abstract

The librarians’ and information science staff’s training at the University of Bialystok started in 1991 with organizing a two-year librarian studies. Next, the post-graduate studies evolved, and since 1998 – Bachelor’s. Their functioning, educational programs, and conducted scientific work were in a way influenced by factors such as geographical location, labor market, demographic situation, and overall University’s situation. The lecture presents the history of academic education (undergraduate and postgraduate). It also pays attention to the specific regional, social, and organizational circumstances.The conclusion and observations regarding the smaller academic centers’ education were presented.
