Abstract

In century of the information society, where using, processing and making available are playing the dominating role of information, the information is more and more intensively used and processed in the private and public sector. It is results from the need of the technological development and appropriate managing the information. Geographical Information Systems serve for it, which are implementing more and more often in legal entities and in the civil service, to the purpose of increasing the e ectiveness of managing. Subjects being functional in the space of the region thanks to using Geographical Information Systems, are implementing innovative methods of the business administration. It is leading to raising the competitiveness on markets, as well as building the innovative potential of local governments, and in consequence the innovative potential of regions. Using the modern information technology also allows for increasing the productivity of legal entities and public sector.
