Próby empirycznej weryfikacji koncepcji menedżerskich
Streszczenie
The article contains a presentation of attempts at empirical verification of assumptions and theses of non-Marxist managerial concepts, and mainly those referring to the functioning of big capitalist corporations (among others those of W. J. Baumol, O. E. Williamson, J . K. Galbraith and R. Marris) as made by different authors.
The thesis saying that almost all big US corporations are "controlled by managers" does not find its explicit confirmation in empirical studies. Various studies show that the share of stock companies "controlled by powerful shareholders" continues to be quite significant. Simultaneously, the findings of studies conducted by different authors do not lend themselves for an easy comparison, which is among others due to differences in interpretation of such concepts as "control" and "controlling block of shares", use of different criteria of exercising such control, and omitting such forms of performing control over a corporation as: participation in a supervisory board of a given stock company, credit and other ties of such a company, with financial institutions, ties of family and other kinds between leading managers and big shareholders.
