Streszczenie
The term posttraumatic growth was introduced by Tedeschi and Calhun to identify the positive changes occurring as a result of coping with consequences of a traumatic event. The purpose of the research presented in this article was to establish the role of psychological factors such as sense of coherence, personality resiliency, basic hope and noodynamics in posttraumatic growth among people in mourning. 101 subjects (48 men and 53 women), who experienced loss of a close person within two months prior to the test, participated in the study. Their mean age was 43,27 (SD = 15,59). The study revealed that there is a relationship between the variables included in the study and level of posttraumatic growth. First factor of resiliency and meaningfulness had emerged to be the predictors of posttraumatic growth – the higher the levels of these variables the higher benefits from trauma are observed in case of people in mourning.
