Polski spór o »Strach« Jana Tomasza Grossa w perspektywie „pośredniczącej” analizy dyskursu

Abstract

Na początku 2008 roku odbyła się główna faza polskiej debaty wokół książki »Strach« Jana Tomasza Grossa, która odnosi się do kwestii polskiego antysemityzmu po II wojnie światowej i tym samym problematyzuje zbiorowy obraz własny Polaków jako narodu ofiar. Analiza debaty wokół »Strachu« będzie się koncentrować wokół analogii z niemiecką debatą z roku 1996 wokół książki Daniela Goldhagena »Gorliwi kaci Hitlera«; metadyskursowych aspektów debaty (wokół »Strachu« oraz dyskusji nad książką niż wydarzeń historycznych); niektórych własności polityzacji i medializacji debaty; problematycznej „etnizacji” sporu; polaryzacji stanowisk oraz niedoboru „pracy pośredniczącej” między przeciwstawnymi stanowiskami. Wnioski wynikające z analizy tej debaty prowadzą do postulatu „pośredniczącej” analizy dyskursu.

The Polish Debate around »Fear« by Jan Tomasz Gross from the Perspective of an “Intermediary” Discourse Analysis. Key words: public debates, discourse analysis, anti-semitism, ethnicity, social construction of identity, relevance structures. Summary: The Polish debate around Jan Tomasz Gross’s »Fear« took place at the beginning of 2008. The book relates to the question of Polish anti-Semitism after Word War II, and by the same token, it identifies the Polish self-image of a nation of victims as the source of the problem. The analysis of the debate around »Fear« focuses on analogies with the German debate on Daniel Goldhagen’s »Hitler’s Willing Executioners« from 1996; metadiscursive aspects of the Polish debate (concerning the book and the debate itself rather than historical events); some features of debate’s politicization and mediatization; the problematic “ethnization” of the debate; polarization of the standpoints and the lack of “intermediary work” between standpoints. The conclusions lead to the postulation of an “intermediary” discourse analysis.
