Modernizacja bibliotek łódzkich szkół wyższych

Abstract

A building's architecture is one of the factors indicating the attractiveness of libraries. Academic libraries are an important part of every institution of higher education; they are the centre of cultural and social life. The paper presents two old factory buildings, which were transformed into academic centers: The University of Humanities and Economics and the Technical University of Lodz. The article describes the new arrangement of industrial interior and the exterior appearance, which were designed for library services. The new building of the Library of the University of Lodz is also described.
