Streszczenie
In this article is presented a question of attitude towards the human body in the
Polish catholic parenetic literature in the first seventy years of XVIIIth century. From
the beginning of XVIIIth century there was a lot of criticism of human body in the
Polish parenetic literature. Catholic authors condemned the interest of human body
and viewed it in an aspect of heavy sin. There were mentioned many examples from
the literature about the holy persons' life where the authors found a denunciation of
the body by the holy persons' condemnation, Drastic change relatively to the human
body took part about in the middle of XVIIIth century. Influence of the Piarists
literature caused that many authors perceived the importance of sphere of the body
for whole human life, Problem of the body was involved into considerations about
education of good citizen, good husband, good wife and good child. It was noticed
the weight of good care about the body in the context of eternal salvation of the
soul. The care of the body as well as care of salvation of soul and other eternal
problems became a very important element in recommendations of parenetic literature
in the second half of XVIIIth century.
