Wyobrażenia związane z pojęciem 'сердце' w świetle rosyjskich frazeologizmów

Abstract

The purpose of the article is the presentation of the selected notions connected with the word сердце in the Russian language. It is the follow-up to the considerations presented in the thesis, delivered in 2004 in Pobierowо at the cyclic conference, entitled "Slavs in language and culture", devoted to the research of the widely held of Slav culture. Сердце in the light of the linguistic data is predominantly an organ of emotions. It is dynamic and it is influenced by various, most frequently negative, external factors. It changes its location, contents, structure and shape. Idioms with the component сердце often express the way people behave, their relations with other people, attitudes towards various life situations as well as indicate human personality traits. It turns out that very often these can be characterized by means of parameters such as weight, temperature, size and depth. Certain processes take place in сердце through which this organ can be associated with different elements. The verbs that denominate physical processes such as boiling, dying of a living organism, melting often constitute the lexical components of idioms that include the word сердце. It is the point through which a man, during his life existence, connects to his creator, is almost 'touchable' for God.
