Władysław Stanisław Reymont w „Tygodniku Ilustrowanym”. Na podstawie Kartoteki Adama Bara

Abstract

The article was written based on Bar’s card-index, which is the retrospective bibliography of the literary content of magazines of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. The article consists of five parts. The first part is the history and description of Bar’s card-index, the second part indicates the amount and distribution of materials related to Reymont in newspapers and periodicals of the Young Poland period and the interwar period, the third part is a description of “Tygodnik Ilustrowany” – the magazine, that contains the most materials related to Reymont. The next two parts indicate, what type of materials regarding our Nobel Prize winner can be found in “Tygodnik Ilustrowany”. They include the writer’s publications, their reviews, articles about him and his achievements, information about translations and theater and film productions based on his works, interviews, letters, obituaries, posthumous memories, information about celebrations in honor of the author, as well as various types of iconographic materials. In their light, Reymont somewhat resembles contemporary celebrities, but apart from being the object of newspaper attention, he was also an excellent writer.

Przy pisaniu niniejszego artykułu wykorzystano Kartotekę Adama Bara, która jest retrospektywną bibliografią literackiej zawartości czasopism XIX i pierwszej połowy XX wieku. Artykuł składa się z pięciu części. Pierwsza część to historia i opis Kartoteki Bara, druga wskazuje na ilość i rozmieszczenie materiałów związanych z Reymontem w gazetach i periodykach młodopolskich i międzywojennych, trzecia zaś jest charakterystyką „Tygodnika Ilustrowanego” – czasopisma, które zawiera najwięcej materiałów związanych z Reymontem. Kolejne dwie części wskazują, jaki rodzaj materiałów dotyczących noblisty można znaleźć w „Tygodniku Ilustrowanym”. Wśród nich wyróżnić można publikacje pisarza, ich recenzje, artykuły o jego osobie i dorobku, informacje o przekładach oraz realizacjach teatralnych i filmowych na podstawie jego utworów, wywiady, listy, nekrologi, wspomnienia pośmiertne, informacje o uroczystościach na cześć autora, a także różnego rodzaju materiały ikonograficzne. Wielość materiałów prasowych związanych z osobą Reymonta świadczy o tym, że nie tylko był on pisarzem chętnie czytanym i drukowanym, ale był też celebrytą – na miarę swoich czasów i w dopuszczalnych przez nie granicach.
