The article focuses on the problem of time category which defines man’s attitude towards the surrounding reality and himself. The starting point is the clash of Newton’s concept of time with Kant’s one which involves the construction of various empirical time variants being contained within its a priori form. The main thesis of my standpoint is the claim that we live simultaneously in multiple temporal dimensions which remains in regard to each other in various configurations. The article presents a few selected typologies of time showing its polysemantic nature. From the point of view of an entity the most important seems to be three time dimensions – biological, psychological and cultural, and these are situated between the past and the future. A special role in the game with time plays an imagination which can freely convert linear time opposing its objective dimensions, and at the same time does not allow for the loss of integrity of the self.
