Kształcenie i dokształcanie robotników w przemyśle
Streszczenie
Development of the national economy produces growing demand for qualified
personnel. The school system is no longer able to satisfy the needs of the economy
with the biggest deficit appearing in category of qualified workers. Thus an
important role will be played here by the system of education and training of
professionally active people.
Non-school system of acquiring and improving professional qualifications by
workers is based on ,,on-the-job” training, courses and practical training conducted
in enterprises (traineeship, probation engagement) constituting an element of
continuous education. Growing requirements as regards qualifications, increase
of the general level of education of the society, and growing role played by
qualifications in promotion processes account for increasing interest taken by
workers in learning and improving their professional qualifications. There can be
observed a growing number of attitudes characterized with autonomous drive to
knowledge among workers.
Training in the place of work encompasses annually about 300 thousand
persons (including 19.1 per cent people obtaining education of secondary-school
level). However, maintaining workers’ activity in the sphere of education and
complementary training at the unchanged level makes it necessary for the industry
to attribute a bigger, than it is the case sometimes now, importance to
employee’s qualifications in the personnel policy (promotions). That is due to the
fact that expectations of workers, reflecting improvement of their qualifications
and education, are linked, in most cases, with promotion to higher posts and
increased pay. Fulfilment of these expectations by the enterprise encourages others
to supplement their education. This leads to improvement in qualifications of the
working personnel and thus paves the way for positive attitudes in relation to
work and place of work.
