Czynniki położenia społecznego a postawy wobec pracy
Streszczenie
The article deals mainly with presentation and initial interpretation
of results of a study in which the author analyzed
relationships between selected factors determining the social
status and attitudes towards one's profession and place of work
researched in a cross-section of the cognitive component. The
study was carried out ąraońg young employees in two local industrial
companies. The analysis encompassed the following factors affecting the
social position: educational background, wages, position held
within the formal company structure, active participation in the
Union of the Polish Socialist Youth and in the Polish United
Workers Party. Inclusion of the above mentioned institutionalized
forms of the social activity in the set of features determining
the social status represents a decision surpassing
standard solutions. It called for an extensive commentary to be
found, among others, in the expanded theoretical part of the
article.
A general relaxion, coming prior to the report on the conducted
studies, is placed in the first two chapters. The first
chapter is entitled, "Attitudes to Work in Social Macroprocesses”
, and the second one, "Social Status Features Taken
into Account". The first chapter provides a justification *hy
the problems of attitudes to work are linked with the problems
of the social structure and its transformations while in the second
chapter there are discussed reasons for a decision why involvement
in social activities should be treated as a factor of
the social status. With this the author links a hypothesis about
a possible link between the social involvement end the attitude
to work. It is connected with a common opinion concerning the
role of the superstructure organization in shaping awareness
contents perceived in different ways. The performed study is to
serve verification of this hypothesis although we know, on the
other hand, that it is but an attempt which should be supplemented
by further studies in the future. The study did not confirm the expected relationship- between
involvement in social activities in both organizations and attitudes
towards work. Similarly the relationships between the remaining
features of the social status and the analyzed attitudes
are not quite clearly visible. This refers, first of all, to the
relationship between these features and attitudes to the place
оf work. On tha other hand, it is worth noting here the order
in which the analyzed features appear as regards the relationship
between the features and the attitudes to the performed
profession. In this case it appeared that relationships between
the active social involvement and attitude to the performed
profession are almost non-axitent, but there exists a slight
connection between attitudes to the profession and a formal position
held within a company, educational background, and.wages.
The strongest relationship was observed between wages and.attitudes
to one's profession.
