Abstract

Long-term care services for elderly in Austria. Case study: Häuser zum Leben The aim of this paper is the attempt to show the long-term care for elderly in Austria. The demographic projections made by Statistisches Amt confirm that the demand for nursing homes is going to increase. In Poland we are going to observe the same situation. The variety of institutional care in Austria can bean example for new members of European Union. But taking as an example Austrian experience we have to bar in mind the differences in family life patterns and different incomes of Polish seniors.
